![]() ![]() This 5% ABV pumpkin ale is supposed to taste the way a similar beer would have tasted during colonial days. This is one of the first pumpkin beers I ever tried more than a decade ago. 6) Brooklyn Post Road Pumpkin Ale (Taste 3) Brooklyn This is the type of beer for those fall fanatics who are obsessed with anything pumpkin spice. It’s made by fermenting pounds of pumpkin with brewer’s wort and sugar before everything is filtered with a spice infusion of nutmeg, cloves, and cinnamon. This is a surprisingly complicated fall seasonal beer. 7) Schlafly Pumpkin Ale (Taste 5) Schlafly ![]() This is watery, thin, and surprisingly bland for a spiced pumpkin ale. It’s light, crisp, and brewed with Willamette and Saphir hops as well as Pale Ale, Whole Wheat, Munich Light malts, and pumpkin and spice flavors. This popular wheat ale from Shipyard out of Portland, Maine is surprisingly low in alcohol (4.5% ABV) for a pumpkin beer. Part 2: The Rankings 8) Shipyard Pumpkinhead Ale (Taste 7) Shipyard Still heavily spiced, but not uncomfortably so like some I’ve tried. The palate had more spices but also had a nice hint of fresh pumpkin flavor and a bit of malt flavor in the background. The nose is dominated by allspice, cinnamon, and even a hint of pepper. Taste 8 Christopher OsburnĪnother overly spiced pumpkin beer. This is one of the least exciting pumpkin beers I’ve ever tried. While there are notes of cinnamon, pumpkin, and other spices, it’s all very thin, watery, and weak. The flavor is a different story altogether. This beer smells like a pumpkin pie that was put into a blender and then mixed with a water beer. While it seems more like a dessert beer than a regular sipper, it’s a well-balanced, memorable seasonal brew. Sipping it revealed more biscuity malts, toasted vanilla beans, cinnamon, and more pumpkin. There’s a hint of graham cracker, sweet pumpkins, fall spices, and maybe a little nutty sweetness. This beer literally smells like a pumpkin pie. The palate is a little better with a decent malt backbone, but it was more of the over-the-top wintry spices like allspice and cinnamon. But those aromas were so strong that I didn’t notice anything else. It’s heavy on cinnamon, ginger, and vanilla. This beer smells like you just got trapped in a closet filled with pumpkin spice candles at Yankee Candle. Overall, this beer doesn’t know if it wants to be spicy, sweet, or even taste like pumpkin. The taste was more of the same with a cavalcade of spices as well as an overly sweet caramel flavor. But they left little to no actual beer or even pumpkin aroma to be found. Allspice, cinnamon, ginger, the whole game was there. Immediately a parade of wintry spices hit my nose. While I don’t like overly spiced, sweet pumpkin beers, this one almost had no flavor at all. Drinking it revealed more muted pumpkin and maybe some cinnamon and nutmeg. There’s maybe a hint of cooked pumpkin and some cinnamon, but not much else. In fact, it barely smells like pumpkin beer. This doesn’t smell like any pumpkin beer I’ve ever had. It’s surprisingly complex and flavorful for a pumpkin ale. The palate is filled with flavors like raisins, vanilla beans, caramel, bready malts, and ripe pumpkin. Taste 2 Christopher OsburnĬomplex aromas of dried fruits, pumpkin, cinnamon, allspice, oak, and sweet caramel met my nose before the first sip. ![]() Even with all of the various flavors, everything seemed to be in proper balance. The palate was more of the same with ginger, cinnamon, vanilla, and sweet, cooked pumpkin taking center stage. Keep scrolling to see how everything turned out.Īromas of butterscotch, cinnamon, ginger, caramel malts, and a healthy dose of baked pumpkin greet my nose before my first sip. We found eight of these pumpkin-fueled brews and instead of simply kicking back and drinking them while we watched early-season NFL games and waited for fall to arrive, we decided to nose them, taste them, and rank them. That means that when late summer and early autumn arrive, there’s a veritable cornucopia of options for pumpkin beer almost anywhere beer is sold. Regardless of how you feel about it, breweries all over the country release their versions every fall. This probably has something to do with the phenomenon whereby pumpkin beers seem to either be lightly flavored with pumpkin and have just a hint of spice, and have just enough complementary flavors to even everything out, orrrr they’re the flavor palate equivalent of a pumpkin spice candy exploding in a beer can. Whether it’s an ale, lager, stout, or something else, pumpkin-flavored beer is either beloved and eagerly awaited or derided and despised, without much in-between. When it comes to beer, there are none quite as divisive as the fall seasonal infused with pumpkin. ![]() ![]() ![]() Head to the location where you want to move this file or folder.Ĥ. Winners for the gift cards will be picked from the blog hop comments. Okay, now let’s talk about the prizes… Pinkfresh will be giving away TEN $25 gift cards. To finish off the card, I added white pigment and shimmer splatter, Sparkling Champagne pearls, and a sentiment from the Rainbow Sentiments Ephemera pack.Īnd there you have the finished card! I really hope you like it. Once I was happy with the arrangement, I added foam tape behind the piece in areas where it wouldn’t show through the vellum and secured it to the card front. A couple spots of liquid glue were used to attach them allowing a bit of dry down time to fiddle with the final placement and to allow the petal ends to curl up. I then secured the top half of the gazebo to the vellum shadow layer so I could arrange and tuck blooms in and around it. I also fussy cut several of the blooms to build a bouquet. To give the gazebo a bit more oomph, I heat embossed it with three layers of brass powder and created a vellum shadow layer using the outline of the metal die as a template. The colors I chose were Ballet Slipper, Bubble Gum, Coral Reef, Passion Fruit, Apricot, and Lavender. Next, I used the Inky Floral Background Stencils to ink blend over the embossed background on watercolor paper. I also used white card stock to die cut a Gazebo and four frames using the Stitched Scallop Rectangles die set. Once I settled on the background, I trimmed it to 4″x5.25″ and added it to a top folding A2 card base. I ended up choosing a teal patterned paper from the Happy Heart 6×6 paper pad and a sheet of watercolor paper both embossed with rose gold powder. I started by heat embossing the Inky Floral Background stamp onto a few different papers since I wasn’t sure yet which direction I was going. There are also giveaways! ![]() ![]() As an Imposter, you can easily take advantage of the Survivor's lack of organization. His uncanny ability to disguise plays off of most Survivors' key weakness: communication. He can disguise himself, not only as any Survivors currently playing but as any prop on the map. Although he might not have any "mobility" skills, long-range abilities, or an AOE attack, what the Imposter does have in his kit is far worse. When the Imposter is the Killer, know just one thing. ![]() While charging, Igor moves so fast that it's almost impossible to chase Survivors around tight corners in maps such as the Abbey. Despite being the fastest mobility skill in the game currently, this dash that Igor makes with his chainsaw can only be done straight ahead. Sadly, though it is truly terrifying to watch Igor land it, his "Charge" ability is unwieldy at best. Chuck this bad boy in the direction of Propmachines or likely hiding spots to try and flush Survivors out, or toss a well-aimed bomb in a fleeing Survivor's path. With a rapid cooldown and some bounce to its physics, Igor's "Soda Bomb" is another ability well-suited for spamming. This is Igor's only "stealth" ability, so its primary use is in spamming it frequently to try and keep Survivors on their toes. His most irksome skill is his "Chainsaw Terror", which triggers a chainsaw sound effect to play across the map at random, lulling players into a false sense of security that Igor is somewhere else entirely. As it stands, this killer bunny is all tough and no stuff, his incredibly eerie character design concealing a somewhat lacking ability kit. ![]() ![]()
